Weather Update: Thunderstorms and Thermal Drop Forecasted for Next Week

Thunderstorms and Temperature Drop Expected Next Week

The first African wave of the season is currently affecting Italy and is expected to intensify in the coming days. However, this weather pattern is not expected to last long, as an unstable North Atlantic impulse is predicted to displace the anticyclone starting from Thursday. As a result, showers and thunderstorms are forecasted in the western Alps, extending to a large part of the Northwest, Lombardy, and Triveneto by evening. Some of these storms may be accompanied by hail.

Continued Unsettled Weather

On the following day, another North Atlantic pulse is expected to reach Northern Italy, particularly the Triveneto region, bringing additional showers and thunderstorms of strong intensity. Over the weekend, if the anticyclone weakens further, the unstable North Atlantic flows may also reach the central-southern regions, resulting in occasional intense rainfall and thunderstorms. As a consequence, temperatures are anticipated to significantly decrease, with a noticeable drop on Friday in the center-north and subsequently in the central-southern regions and Sardinia. However, these trends require further confirmation due to the time gap. Stay tuned for updates!
