At the weekend, spring may reach new heights, but what will happen on National Day is still uncertain.
– In Eastern Norway, there is a chance that there could be real summer weather at the weekend, meteorologist on duty, Magnus Ovhed, tells VG.
The weather forecast service Pent.no shows that parts of Eastern Norway can get up to 23 degrees Celsius and sunshine next Saturday.
– It currently looks very good for the weekend, but it is far from “safe”, says Ovhed.
At the same time that the long-term forecast gives an indication of what the weather will be like at the weekend, it is now also possible to see what the weather will be like on 17 May.
Be careful, you may get chills down your spine if you read on.
- By dragging the timeline in the map above, you can see how the weather will develop over the next few days.
– From the weekend and beyond next week, it’s almost like pearls on a string with low pressure passing by Norway, along the coast. Then the margins are very small. If you’re lucky, it can be sunny and 20 degrees. If you are unlucky, it can rain and be cooler, says Ovhed.
Pent.no shows on Monday 8 May that Oslo will get over 20 degrees and a cloud-covered sun on National Day.
For Trondheim, a stay has also been reported, and 16 degrees. If we continue north, the weather stays the same, but the temperature drops to eight degrees in Tromsø.
Then it was Westland, then:
– We are currently looking at this probability of precipitation or stay. It is pretty much an even advantage over most of Norway, says Ovhed and continues:
– But not completely unexpected, it is the case that if you are in Western Norway or the Møre coast, there is more than a 50 per cent chance of precipitation. It is probably safest to take your umbrella there.
The meteorologist estimates the probability of a stay in Eastern Norway at 70 per cent. And then there can be temperatures of up to 20 degrees. But it is too early to celebrate.
– Do you have a request for those who are now looking at the May 17 weather?
– I would say that since there is so much low pressure going on, it’s just a matter of following along. Gradually, the forecasts become more and more certain. You should probably not plan for something that is very dependent on good weather. If you do that, it might be good to have a plan B, no matter where you live in the country, concludes Ovhed.
