The weather this Sunday will remain wintry with showers near the Channel and Atlantic coasts, a disturbance near the Mediterranean, and snow in the plains and on the massifs, according to Météo-France forecasts.

Unstable weather will dominate throughout the day in Brittany, on the coastal departments of the Channel and on the whole of the Atlantic coast, in the form of showers, sleet, rain and snow.

However, in inland Brittany, the showers will regress over the course of the day, with a few scattered snowflakes.

From Charentes to Midi-Pyrénées and Roussillon, the weather will be drier, with there again some scattered snowfall in the morning. Thinning will develop, and will be clearer from Ariège to the Dordogne.

The weather will be much more disturbed in the south-east, showers will affect Provence and the east of Languedoc with a little snow as far as the plain. Instability will be more marked on the French Riviera, Corsica with possible thunderstorms on the coast.

Snow in Lorraine and Alsace

Elsewhere, the weather will remain wintry, with snow in the plains in Lorraine, Alsace up to the Rhône valley, as well as on all the massifs, in particular the Massif Central. These conditions will continue throughout the day. Mistral and tramontane will reinforce the cold in the morning with gusts to 60/80 km / h on the Roussillon coast. These windy phenomena will weaken over the hours.

Minimum temperatures will be cold in the morning, with almost widespread frosts between 0 and -3 degrees. It will be milder on the Channel coasts with 0 to 2 degrees and on the Côte d’Azur with 2 to 4 degrees up to 6 in Nice and 7 in Bastia. The maximums will rise little during the day with 1 to 3 degrees in the northeast, 3 to 6 elsewhere, up to 8/10 on the coast of the Var and the Alpes Maritimes to Corsica where the mercury will approach 11 to 13 degrees.
