There is no active front on the large fire that broke out on Sunday in Barnabas, but firefighters remain on alert for possible rekindling.
Forecasters have indicated that winds in the area are expected to strengthen during the afternoon. According to the meteo, they are expected to locally exceed even 70 kilometers.
The following group of maps shows the forecast for wind gusts in the wider Attica region from noon (12:00) on Tuesday, August 13th to the evening (21:00) of the same day. As can be seen, from noon (12:00) until the afternoon (15:00) wind gusts are expected that will locally exceed 60-70 km/h. A slight weakening of the winds (and gusts) is expected from 17:00 – 18:00, while a significant weakening is expected in the evening hours.
