First, fresh air will sweep through Baden-Württemberg, then it will become hot and partly humid. The German Weather Service (DWD) is predicting a short heat wave that will end with thunderstorms and showers at the weekend.
The Otto high pressure system will give Thursday a fresh start, said weather expert Marco Puckert. During the day, only a few clouds will move in front of the sun. On the Neckar, temperatures will reach up to 27 degrees. It will only be really windy in the Black Forest.
The short two-day heat wave will start on Friday. After a relatively cool night, it will be really sunny. Only a light wind will provide a slight cooling effect at 25 to 31 degrees. On the Feldberg, the wind will remain stormy, it was further reported.
Weather expert: Saturday will be “peak of a small heat wave”
It will remain very sunny on Saturday. Temperatures will climb to 27 degrees in the mountains, 31 degrees in Stuttgart and 33 degrees on the Rhine. According to the DWD expert, the air may feel muggy all day long. The reason for this is the thunderstorms that reached the state in the evening.
On Sunday, there will be a “possibly tropical night” in parts of the state, the expert said. Temperatures will be between 16 and 19 degrees. Thunderstorms could spread further at night. The day is expected to be cooler than the previous days.
