In the afternoon, this disturbed weather with frequent stormy precipitation will shift over the Grand Est, Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. Storms may also cross the Cévennes.
Stormy activity will be less intense than the day before but temporary heavy rains will still be possible.
Most of France was placed under storm vigilance on Sunday, including around twenty departments in orange vigilance – a quadrilateral ranging from Landes to the Rhône in the south and from Deux-Sèvres to Cher in the north -, and 66 others in yellow.
On the northwest, the showers will become less frequent. Over the southwest, after a morning spent in thick greyness, the sky will clear up a little in Aquitaine.
The showers will mainly concern the Pyrenean foothills.
Falling temperatures
The westerly wind will become noticeable over much of the country and maximum temperatures will plummet.
It will be between 18 and 23 degrees in general, nearly 25 in Alsace and another 25 to 28 in the center-east. On the southwest, they will sometimes lose 10 to 12 degrees compared to the day before.
New heat records for the month of May were indeed recorded on Sunday, particularly in the Massif Central and the Alps.
The Mediterranean rim will keep dry weather, bright despite a veiled sun, and hot with 24 to 28 degrees, locally 30 in Provence. The tramontane will blow moderately in its domain.
