Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – clouds, showers and snow – in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, Sunday starts uncomfortably. The German Weather Service (DWD) assumes in its forecast that isolated thunderstorms with heavy showers in higher altitudes of both federal states. Sleet showers are to be expected in certain areas.

Maximum temperatures on the last day of the week are between four and nine degrees. According to the meteorologists, there is a moderate, partly fresh westerly wind with strong gusts that could increase in intensity in ridge areas.

According to the DWD, a cloud cover spreads over both countries during the night, and heavy rain is likely to fall in some areas. In the mountains, people also have to expect snow and slippery terrain. According to the DWD, lows are between three degrees and minus two degrees at high altitudes. Again strong gusts could blow there from the west.
