Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – In Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, the new week is expected to start under thick cloud cover. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), light snowfall must be expected in both federal states during the day. In the afternoon, however, the cloud cover in the north temporarily loosens. According to the DWD, maximum temperatures are 2 degrees on Monday. Permafrost has to be expected in the higher mountains.

According to the DWD, there will be snow showers in areas on Tuesday night. According to the meteorologists, the lowest temperatures are between minus 2 and minus 8 degrees in the mountains. There is a risk of slipperiness. During the day, the clouds on the Saar, Moselle and Rhine can occasionally loosen up. According to the DWD, snow showers could still fall. Maximum temperatures are between 0 and 3 degrees, so there is slight permafrost in the mountains.

In the night of Wednesday, clouds come in from the west and cause rain or sleet in lower elevations. Snow falls in the mountains. Lowest temperatures are between 2 and minus 7 degrees. There is a risk of slipperiness. During the day it rains and snows at times, as the meteorologists say. According to them, the maximum temperatures are between 0 degrees in the mountains and 6 degrees in the plain.
