Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Snowfall in the Black Forest: After a short cold front, the German Weather Service (DWD) is predicting a thaw again. During Tuesday night, up to five centimeters of new snow fell in layers over 800 meters high in the Black Forest. The few inches of snow that the cold front brought after the warm temperatures of the past few weeks should melt again by Wednesday.
“In the coming night, the zero degree limit will rise again and even at high altitudes above 1000 meters, precipitation will come down as rain,” a DWD spokesman said. A warm front will also bring milder temperatures to the rest of Baden-Württemberg. The weather service expects 7 degrees on the Alb and up to 13 degrees in the Breisgau on Wednesday.
