Berlin / Potsdam / Offenbach (dpa / bb) – October was the driest October in Germany this year in Berlin. The German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Friday that an average of only 20 liters per square meter had fallen. According to the information, the federal average was 45 liters per square meter. At 10.7 degrees, however, the mean temperature was just under one degree above the national average. At 140 hours, the sun also shone around 10 hours more in Germany-wide comparison.

The sun could be seen over Brandenburg for about the same time. The average temperature was 10.2 degrees and around 25 liters of rain fell per square meter. The heavy autumn storm “Hendrik” also resulted in a death in the Uckermark. There a train driver was killed by a falling tree.
