Erfurt/Leipzig (dpa/th) – Wednesday was the warmest day so far in the relatively young year in Thuringia. The maximum value was measured at 23.8 degrees Celsius in Jena, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) in Leipzig on request. The maximum of 25 degrees expected in the morning was not reached. After Jena, according to this information, Schwarzburg (Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district) was the warmest in Thuringia with 23.3 degrees.

According to the DWD, the beautiful weather will not last. According to the forecast, it will be cloudy to heavily cloudy on Thursday night. At the end of the night, the weathermen in Eichsfeld are forecasting partly showery rain, although individual thunderstorms cannot be completely ruled out. The low temperatures go back to nine to six degrees.

On Thursday it will mostly be very cloudy and during the course of the day the meteorologists are expecting partly showery rain moving from west to east. There is a low risk of thunderstorms in Eichsfeld in the morning and in eastern Thuringia in the early evening. The maximum temperatures are expected between 16 and 18 degrees.
