In their catchment area, dams were throttled to prevent the river from swelling further.

The weather in the coming days could cause the water levels to rise further. According to the forecast of the German Weather Service (DWD), it shouldn’t rain on Thursday and Friday, but the thaw will continue with maximum temperatures of seven to ten degrees on Thursday. Even in the mountains, it can thaw at maximum values ​​of up to six degrees.

On the night of Saturday it is forecast to be increasingly rainy and cool to zero to three degrees. The meteorologists also expect bad weather during the day. On Sunday night it could snow widely.
