Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – A slightly cloudy autumn Saturday is followed by a bright, sunny Sunday. In brief, this is the weather forecast for Hessen. The sunshine attracts people to be active in the fresh air. But a thick jacket should be, because with temperatures of a maximum of 13 degrees and with light wind it gets quite cool. But according to the forecast of the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach it remains dry.
Before that, Hessen faces a partly icy night. The temperatures can slide into the minus range. The cause is maritime polar air that is drawing in from the west. According to the DWD, frost near the ground is to be expected in large parts of the country. Especially in valleys it could be slippery. Motorists should be accordingly careful and gardeners should protect sensitive plants.
The first week after the autumn break starts with sun again in Hessen. On Monday afternoon, thick clouds appear. There shouldn’t be rain. The bright autumn weather lasts the longest between the Rhön and the Odenwald. With values of up to 14 degrees it will be a little warmer on Monday than on the weekend.
