Essen (dpa / lnw) – garden owners have known for a long time: it could rain again in North Rhine-Westphalia. But it doesn’t. Not until the weekend, and even after that, the experts don’t give much hope: “If we can collect three or four liters of rain per square meter next week, that would be a lot,” said Malte Witt of the German Weather Service in Essen on Thursday. “There will also be various regions where nothing falls.”
It will not be unfriendly in the next few days. “We have the famous alternation of sun and clouds.” Up to and including Sunday, the clouds in the northern half are somewhat more numerous than in the south of the country. Towards the weekend it gets warmer during the day: Friday 14 to 17 degrees, Saturday 16 to 18 degrees and Sunday up to 21 degrees on the Rhine and in the Cologne Bay. At the beginning of the coming week it will be spreading above 20 degrees. It stays fresh at night, ground frost is still possible in the mountainous region.
