Offenbach (dpa/lhe) – In Hesse, very warm to hot weather and a mix of sun and clouds can be expected this Wednesday. The maximum temperatures are 29 to 34 degrees, in the mountains 26 to 29 degrees, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach. Due to persistent drought, there is a high risk of forest fires in some areas, and in some cases very high in the south. Except for occasional light showers, there will be mostly no precipitation on Wednesday. On Thursday night, temperatures will drop to 19 to 16 degrees in the south and 16 to 13 degrees in the north.
On Thursday, the meteorologists initially expect a lot of clouds, and then increasingly brighter weather during the course of the day. In the morning individual showers are expected in the northern half, in the southern half from midday. In the extreme south, isolated heat thunderstorms cannot be completely ruled out in the evening, it said. The maximum values are 27 to 31 degrees, in the higher mountains and in the extreme north of the country 23 to 25 degrees. The DWD expects clear to sunny conditions on Friday. With maximum temperatures of 22 to 24 degrees in the north and 25 to 27 degrees in the south, it will remain dry.
