According to the preliminary evaluation of the measuring stations of the German Weather Service (DWD), the average temperature in the spring months of March, April and May was 10.1 degrees and thus 2.0 degrees above the comparable period. In addition, it was an extremely sunny spring with almost 745 hours of sunshine. This corresponded to 165 percent of the target value. According to the DWD, Rhineland-Palatinate was the second warmest and sunniest region in all of Germany.

According to the DWD, the situation was quite different: in the spring months, a good 120 liters of precipitation fell per square meter – the target value is 191 liters per square meter. All in all, Rhineland-Palatinate was only about 63 percent of the target value, but still slightly above the nationwide values ​​of 57 percent of the usual amount of precipitation.

Rain free even on weekends. At Pentecost, the weather in Rhineland-Palatinate, according to the DWD’s forecast, will be dry and mostly friendly.

On Saturday, the DWD peaks will rise to 20 and 24 degrees. On Pentecost Sunday, thicker clouds appear from the east, but it remains dry. The maximum values ​​are between 19 and 24 degrees. With a few cumulus clouds, Whit Monday is also sunny and a little warmer: up to 23 degrees in the mountains, up to 26 degrees in lower altitudes.
