Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – With rain, strong gusts of wind and short thunderstorms, Hessen starts the weekend on Friday. While it is mostly overcast and rainy in the morning, the precipitation continues at noon, said a DWD meteorologist on Friday. Accordingly, the temperatures in the country fluctuate quite strongly: In the Rhine-Main area it is up to 13 degrees warm, in the north it cools down to five degrees. Occasional short thunderstorms are possible in the south. A freshening wind from the southwest brings strong to stormy gusts.
On Saturday night, local slipperiness due to freezing moisture is possible. In some areas it could rain, in the north even snow. The DWD expects dense clouds on Saturday, especially in the south of Hesse. Snow should fall there again. The temperatures are between minus two and five degrees before it gets a little colder again on Sunday night. The weather service warns of slippery weather at temperatures as low as minus seven degrees. On Sunday the sun can show itself, it should stay dry.
