Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – In Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, Sunday is expected to begin for people under a thick blanket of clouds. According to the German Weather Service (DVD), light snowfall must be expected in both federal states during the day.

One centimeter of fresh snow could fall locally, so in the mountainous region there is between two and four centimeters in it. Against this background, the meteorologists warned against slippery roads. Temperatures should reach between zero and two degrees on the level on Sunday, while above 400 meters there is likely to be a slight permafrost at temperatures between minus two and zero degrees.

The DWD also expects light snowfall for Monday night. The temperatures should then be between minus four and one degree. During the day it will mostly remain covered and snow will fall at times. Therefore, smoothness can also be expected. Temperatures should be between one and three degrees, and slight permafrost was forecast for the mountains.
