Offenbach (dpa/lhe) – After continuous rain and stormy gusts at the weekend, the weather situation in Hesse eased on Monday. The German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Offenbach in the morning that there could still be rain and sleet showers until noon. Snow with smoothness is possible in the mountains. From the afternoon it should loosen up from the west. With highs of between six and nine degrees, it will remain windy. Strong to stormy gusts are also possible in the north-eastern half and in the mountains, which subside towards the evening.
Some rain or drizzle is therefore expected on Tuesday night, mostly it will remain dry with values between two and zero degrees. According to the DWD forecast, temperatures can drop to minus two degrees at higher altitudes. Freezing rain can make the roads slippery.

The responsible State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology recorded increased water levels in the Lahn area, on the Fulda and Eder, among other things.
