Weather – Offenbach am Main – In many places, continuous rain in Hesse even at Christmas – Panorama

Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – White Christmas seems unlikely this year in most parts of Hesse. Until Thursday it can rain again and again with varying intensity, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Wednesday. Especially between Vogelsberg / Rhön and Odenwald as well as from the Westerwald in the direction of the Rothaargebirge, further rainfall between 20 and 30 liters per square meter could be added to the rain that has already fallen by Thursday evening.

According to the forecast, on Wednesday it will be overcast during the course of the day, in the mountains there may be continuous rain. The maximum temperatures are between nine degrees in the higher mountains and 14 degrees on the Main and Rhine. Even on Thursday night it could rain like a shower with lows between eight and six degrees, and three degrees at high altitudes.

On Thursday, showers can be expected from the second half of the day, and sleet and snow are also possible in middle and higher elevations. The maximum temperature should reach between seven degrees in the north and eleven degrees in the south – at higher altitudes five to eight degrees.

In the night of Friday it could be smooth in the mountains and in the lowlands. Light snow showers are possible in the mountains. According to the forecast, the temperature will drop to two to minus three degrees.
