From the point of view of meteorologists, the thunderstorms are likely to come down in the afternoon. Affected areas are the administrative districts of Darmstadt, Gießen and Kassel. “In the event of a lightning strike, there is a risk of death! Among other things, severe damage to buildings is possible. Trees can be uprooted and roof tiles, branches or objects fall down,” the DWD said. Flooding of cellars and streets as well as local flooding of brooks and small rivers are also possible.
