The drop in temperature is noticeable this morning (10/18), with Athens waking up to 15 degrees Celsius, as the director of the EMY, Thodoris Kolidas, informed in a post on X.
The face of the weather has changed and the thermometer is expected to reach 23 degrees today in Attica, a big drop compared to the 30s of the previous -summer- days.

Kolydas: The regressive lows
According to Mr. Kolydas, the drop in temperature is estimated at 3-5 degrees and is below normal levels for the season. In the mainland, the minimum prices are expected to be in the single digits.
The rains will be “very little in the central and northern areas, as the systems that affect the Central Mediterranean not only do not come to our region, but become retrogressive, that is, they head towards… the west”, he says characteristically.
Winds will weaken over the weekend and pick up again during the week.

Tsatraphyllias: Cold even on the weekend
Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatraphyllias also speaks of a cold weekend. In Athens today Friday, 22 degrees Celsius is expected and from 21 on Saturday and Sunday.
In fact, at night and early in the morning these temperatures will be reduced by 9 degrees! “Take a look at the course of the temperature. EMY: The weather today, Friday 10/18
Temporarily increased clouds with light local rains mainly in western Macedonia and northern Thessaly, the EMY predicts for today.
In the west, a few clouds temporarily increased with local rains in the early morning hours, mainly in the marine parts of the southern Ionian. In the rest of the mainland and the rest of the island country, generally clear weather, with a few local clouds in Crete.
Gusty northerly winds of 8 Beaufort locally in the central and southern Aegean until midday.
Winds will blow in the west east southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the South Ionian locally 6 Beaufort. In the east they will blow from north directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7, temporarily in the south until noon to 8 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly mainly in the central and southern regions and will reach 18 to 20 degrees in the north, 20 to 22 degrees in the central areas and 23 degrees in the regions, 22 to 24 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and the island country. In southern Crete and the Dodecanese it will locally reach 24 to 25 degrees Celsius.
