Weather in NRW: new snow, warning of slippery roads

Essen.
A storm is not to be expected at the weekend. On Sunday, fresh snow is announced, in the lowlands sleet. Beware of slippery roads!

After two days with a stormy start, the weather in NRW calmed down on Friday. On the night of Friday there were again stormy gusts, but they were much weaker than the morning before, when storm Goran with wind power of up to 100 kilometers per hour made the fire departments a lot of work.

“The storm is through,” said the German weather service in Essen on Friday morning. During the night wind speeds of up to 83 kilometers per hour were measured locally and 81 km / h on the Kahler Asten. “That was a wind force weaker than on Thursday,” said DWD meteorologist Ines van Hollen on request in the morning.

Weekend weather will be cool to frosty

The temperatures rise on Friday during the day at most up to 7 degrees in the lowlands, it said at the DWD. After the initial rain, it stays dry for the rest of the day.

Saturday and Sunday it will be cooler, in the lowlands the temperatures will rise to a maximum of 6 degrees on Saturday and up to 4 degrees Celsius on Sunday. At higher altitudes, such as in the Sauerland or Siegerland, it gets frosty, the temperatures there would not exceed freezing point on weekends, even during the day.
