Warning: significantly higher water levels expected
1:09 p.m .: Over the next 48 to 60 hours, heavy rain areas with embedded thunderstorms repeatedly move in with interruptions, as our meteorologist Jan Schenk reports. It rains sometimes extremely heavily. Up to Thursday morning, cumulative locally limited rain amounts of up to 200 l / sqm can occur.
The water level forecast for Maxau in Baden-Württemberg already shows a 5-year flood event, although it doesn’t even rain and the precipitation often arrives in the Rhine with a delay. Significantly higher water levels are to be expected. Many levels in Germany have no or only very short forecast periods. The first reliable predictions will probably be available from Tuesday.
