The lowest temperatures in December in our country will be from minus 10 to minus 5 degrees, and the highest from 10 to 15 degrees, writes BTA.
This year in December, the average monthly temperature should be around the norm, which in northern Bulgaria and in the high fields is from 0 to 2 degrees, in the Upper Thracian lowland – 2-3 degrees, along the Black Sea and in the southernmost regions – 4-6 degrees, and in the mountains it is from minus 8 to minus 2 degrees.
We welcome December with rain and snow
The monthly amount of precipitation will be around and above the norm, which in most of the country is between 40 and 60 liters per square meter, in the mountains – up to 70 liters per square meter, and in more southern areas – between 70 and 110 liters per square meter.
In December, the dynamics of atmospheric processes on the Balkan Peninsula will increase, and the weather in our country will be dynamic with frequent temperature changes and the phase of precipitation.
For most of the days of the first ten days, cloudy and foggy weather will prevail over the country, in some lowland areas. In the first days of the period, warm and humid Mediterranean air masses will move from the southwest. There will be precipitation, mainly rain, which during the night will turn into snow in the Pre-Balkan and on the high fields. In the middle of the decade temperatures will drop and in more places in northern Bulgaria the rain will turn to snow.

A more substantial rise in temperatures is expected at the end of the period and in the first half of the second decade. The weather will remain cloudy, in many places with precipitation, mainly rain. There is a higher probability of creating a rainy situation and in some places the rainfall will be significant.
During the last days of the second and the beginning of the third decade, it will be cold again and the rain in northern Bulgaria and on the high fields will turn into snow. In the middle of the period, the probability of precipitation decreases and a relative increase in temperatures is expected. During the last days of the month there is again the possibility of precipitation and a drop in temperatures.
