70 centimeters to one meter of fresh snow – this is what some Baden-Württemberg residents expect at the beginning of next week. Already on Saturday it will be uncomfortable in the southwest because of low “Luis”.

Offenbach – The Black Forest is facing a new onset of winter at the beginning of next week. “Above all in the Alps and in the adjacent foreland as well as in the Black Forest, there will probably be prolonged snowfalls with more abundant amounts of fresh snow,” explained Sebastian Altnau, meteorologist at the German Weather Service (DWD). 70 centimeters to one meter of fresh snow are possible here. Lower areas expected single-digit daily highs and wet and cold showers in the new week.
Before that, it will be stormy on Saturday, according to the DWD predictions – because of low “Luis”. In addition, it rains again and again, while snow showers are possible at higher altitudes. On Sunday the wind eases and a surge of polar cold air follows, said Altnau. On Sunday night, the snow line drops to 300 to 500 meters.
