Weather getting worse

This year, the autumn mostly brings joy to the Ukrainians with warm weather. It will be like this in the last days of October. But already at the end of this week, Ukrainians will expect a drop in temperature, rain, and in some places slippery. This forecast was made by meteorologist Igor Kibalchich, reports Meteoprog.

Under the influence of the high pressure area, the weather will be relatively warm and calm in Ukraine in the coming days, without heavy precipitation. Major changes in weather occur at the beginning of October and November and are associated with the development of active cyclonic activity in northern Europe. As a result of these changes there will be a sharp drop in air temperature, stormy winds and short-term rains, which in some places in the western and northern regions will gradually be replaced with balls of sleet and snow,” Kibalchich said.

Weather for a week

Forecasters say the weather today will remain mostly dry, with only light rain in at least some places during the day. Air temperature at night +5 … + 10 ° C, during the day + 12 … + 17 ° C, in the western part +8 … + 11 ° C in some of places. But on Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be like this:

“On Wednesday, October 30, light rain is expected in the western regions of Ukraine. Heavy precipitation is not expected in the rest of the country. At night and in the morning there will be fog in places. Wind directions variable, 3-8 m / s 16 ° С On Thursday, October 31, at night in the western regions, during the day for most of the country, except for the southern regions, there will be short-term rains in the western quarter. 7-12 m / s, gusts in places during the day, 15-20 m / s Air temperature at night +5 … + 10 ° C, in the east 0. … + 3 ° C; daytime +10 … + 15 ° C, in the region of Odessa and Crimea up to +17 ° C.”

What will the beginning of November be like?

On November 1, at night in the east, in the Azov region and Crimea, there will be light rain during the day in the northwestern regions. In other regions of Ukraine there will be no precipitation. And on the weekend, Ukrainians in most regions will see both rain and the first snow.

On Saturday, November 2, unsettled and windy weather is expected under the influence of an active cyclone. There will be some light to moderate rain. During the day, light wet snow and snow pellets are possible in the northern and sometimes western regions. Northwest wind, 9-14 m/s, gusts 17-22 m/s. The air temperature during the day varies between +6…+11°C, in the western and northern regions +2…+7°C. On Sunday, November 3, there will be no heavy rain at night, rain with sleet in the northern and western regions during the day, and no heavy rain in other regions. Forecaster Natalia Didenko also warned of cold weather this weekend.

On the way, the meteorologist noted that the analysis of current trends and climate forecasts show that the length of the summer in Ukraine will increase.

And recently Vera Balabukh talked about what winter would be like in Ukraine.

This winter, the average winter air temperature will remain 1-2 degrees above normal and vary between +5 and -5 degrees. In general, as Balabukh notes, an increase in winter temperatures has been a trend in recent decades. It is becoming normal for January temperatures to approach normal temperatures in November.

At the same time, she noted, meteorologists around the world are talking about a risk for this winter due to something that has not been studied – sudden stratospheric warming. Therefore, whether Arctic air will enter Ukraine will depend on this and several other factors.

The press secretary of the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine, Natalya Ptukha, also spoke that the winter in Ukraine will not be too harsh. The specialist noted that it is too early to talk about an exact forecast. At the same time, it can be accepted, given the trends in recent years. Ptukha recalled that during the current harvest season (despite the cold period in early October in the western regions), the temperature tends to be above the climate level.

Ptukha noted that weather forecasters do not rule out the possibility of cold and arctic air pouring into Ukraine.
