Thunderstorms arriving in the next few hours In a few hours the weather will undergo a decisive and evident deterioration due to thunderstorms that will affect only some regions anyway.
The general circulation on our country seems to have fallen asleep again. As the map below shows, over most of Italy there is in fact a mild high pressure figure of African origin (letter A) which, despite generous efforts to give us stable and warm days, continues to be caressed by the humid flow and unstable Atlantic that laps the northern regions. And it will be precisely in these areas where the weather will give us some small headaches during the day. Baric situation But let’s go in order and try to understand how the meteorological picture will evolve in the next few hours and above all which regions will be most at risk.
The first part of the day will be punctuated by some showers, including thunderstorms, in the northeastern regions, especially in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, but with some notes of instability also in the rest of the north. Little to say instead for the central and southern regions where the morning will pass quietly without particular obstacles.
Instead, pay attention to the afternoon when the increase in temperatures will favor the classic contrasts capable of developing sudden outbreaks of thunderstorms. Eyes pointing to the northern regions in particular to the Alpine and pre-Alpine sector, but with possible encroachments towards the flat areas, especially the adjacent ones. Over the hours, showers and thunderstorms will also tend to develop on many areas of both the central and southern Apennine ridge.
This second map below shows the distribution and accumulations of rain forecast for Monday 3 July. Of note are the blue colored areas where we expect cumulative close to 40 mm and therefore the equivalent of 40 liters of rain per square metre. Central and Southern high pressure will continue to keep a good watch and at the same time causing a rather hot climatic context, albeit without particular excesses. Those will probably be there later in the week! But we will give you more details about this in the next updates.
