Weather Forecast: Sand and Dust Storms Hit Central and Northern Upper Egypt, Red Sea Governorate, and Western Desert – June 2023

Dr. Iman Shaker, Director of the Remote Sensing Center at the Meteorological Authority, said: The weather fluctuations will be only on Tuesday and will not last long. It is an air depression from the Western Desert, and the winds are loaded with sand and dust.

Shaker indicated, during an intervention on the “Cairo Talk” program, with the journalist Khairy Ramadan, and the journalist Karima Awad, on the “Cairo and the People” screen, that there will be a deterioration in the horizontal vision in the governorates of central and northern Upper Egypt, the Red Sea Governorate and the Western Desert, and it will be a speed The wind is 50 km/h.

She explained that there is a decrease in visibility on desert roads throughout the day, starting tomorrow afternoon, stressing the importance of postponing travel on desert roads and highways, and that one should not move under real estate that is threatened with falling and huge billboards and not park them in places.

And she noted that Lower Egypt will have wind activity without stirring up sand and dust, explaining that Greater Cairo has a desert extension, which are open areas affected by sand and dust and are less severe than the areas in northern Upper Egypt, continuing: “There are no significant rises in temperature, reaching 36 degrees over Cairo.” And the temperature rises in the country and rises to 45 degrees.
