41 departments have been placed on orange vigilance for thunderstorms expected Saturday afternoon over a large central part of the territory, indicates Météo France, which also maintains the Rhône on orange vigilance for heatwaves. The Charente remains on yellow alert but Météo France is forecasting hailstorms in our department this Saturday afternoon
Last night, the firefighters of Charente carried out several interventions in the agglo of Angoulême following thunderstorms and heavy showers. Power outages have also been identified, particularly in Magnac-sur-Touvre, but also in Angoulême.
The 14 new departments placed in orange vigilance at the end of the morning are: Allier (03), Cantal (15), Corrèze (19), Côte-d’Or (21), Creuse (23), Dordogne (24), Indre (36), Loire (42), Haute-Marne (52), Meurthe-et-Moselle (54), Moselle (57), Puy-de-Dôme (63 ), Saône-et-Loire (71) and Haute-Vienne (87).
They are added to the previous 27: the Aisne (02), the Ardennes (08), the Aube (10), the Cher (18), the Eure (27), the Eure-et-Loir (28 ), Loir-et-Cher (41), Loiret (45), Marne (51), Meuse (55), Nièvre (58), Nord (59), Oise (60), l ‘Orne (61), Pas-de-Calais (62), Sarthe (72), Paris and the inner suburbs (75–92–93–94), Seine-Maritime (76), Seine-et-Marne (77), Yvelines (78), Somme (80), Yonne (89), Essonne (91) and Val-d’Oise (95).
After a period of calm, the risk of thunderstorms resumes during the day from the southwest, notes Météo France.
From the middle of the afternoon, the thunderstorms will organize and intensify. They will be characterized by strong electrical activity, intense rains (20 to 50 mm in a short time), hail and gusts of wind often close to 80 km / h, which can locally exceed 100 km / h. These storms evacuate towards Belgium during the next night.
Météo France emphasizes that in the departments placed in yellow vigilance, a risk of violent thunderstorms also exists, particularly from the South-West to the Massif Central, but these thunderstorms should remain more localized.
