The large-scale sustained heavy rainfall in Guangxi caused by the “sea anemone” residual vortex, monsoon, and cold air has basically ended. The process has the characteristics of long residual vortex retention time, large accumulated rainfall, many heavy rain days, overlapping heavy rainfall areas, and extreme characteristics.

From September 8 to 14, the “sea anemone” remnant vortex stayed in southern Guangxi and slowly moved westward, staying for as long as 7 days. According to statistics, from 20:00 on September 7 to 08:00 on September 15, 22 towns and villages in 7 counties (cities, districts) in Yulin, Beihai, Guigang and other 3 cities had rainfall exceeding 400 mm. The highest rainfall during the process was in Beihai City. Tieshangang 600.8 mm.

The rainfall is extremely extreme, with rainfall in many places breaking observation records since the station was established. From 20:00 on September 7 to 08:00 on September 13, a total of 167 towns and villages in the region had record-breaking rainfall at different times. 13 towns and villages in Bobai County, Yulin City experienced extremely heavy rains. The highest 24-hour rainfall was in Shuiming, Bobai County, Yulin City. The town’s 450.2 mm (08:00 on the 11th), the county’s 24-hour 368.8 mm exceeded the historical extreme value (311.7 mm).

In the past week (September 8-14), the rainfall in Nanning counties (cities, districts) ranged from 52.1 (Nanning urban area) to 138.8 (Yongning District) millimeters, which was 82% (Nanning urban area) ~ 82% more than the same period in normal years. 357% (Yongning District). In the coming week, the average temperature in Nanning will be less than normal and the total rainfall will be less than normal. Except for showers or thunderstorms on the 16th-17th and 22nd, the rest of the time will be cloudy. Among them, during the 20th China-ASEAN Expo and Summit, there was no heavy rainfall or high temperature weather in Nanning City.
