A large thunderstorm will bring rain Thursday and the possibility of a winter mix Friday to the Washington DC area, Telemundo 44 meteorologist Joseph Martinez teased.
While no snow and large amounts of rain are expected, Friday “we may have some snowflakes mixed with precipitation,” according to the expert.
Also, given the proximity of Christmas Day, Martínez made a special recommendation to viewers.
“If you have any trips this holiday, take advantage of Wednesday as conditions on the roads will be calm,” he said.
The maximum temperature for Thursday will be 51 degrees while the minimum will remain at 46 degrees.
On Friday the thermometer will reach 40 degrees but the minimum temperature could drop to 16.
¿WHITE CHRISTMAS IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA?
“Unfortunately we don’t have a white Christmas in the forecast,” replied Martínez.
The arrival of the Arctic polar air will cause Christmas Eve and Christmas days to be “sunny but very cold”.
According to the expert, it is an air mass that is descending from Canada, which will cause “a drastic lowering of the thermometer for Christmas Eve”.
Saturday morning, Christmas Eve, dawns with 16 degrees with a maximum of 28, while Sunday, Christmas day, the thermometer could mark 19 degrees and 30, as the maximum temperature.
However, it’s time to dig out the most opaque coats or jackets because the breeze will cause wind chill to be 7 degrees Saturday morning in the Washington DC metro area.
