“In the coming days of December and throughout the month, unstable weather is expected in most of the republic: in the northern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan, snow is forecast, at times heavy snow with blizzards, in the southern regions precipitation will turn to snow. Fog, ice, and wind increases of up to 15-28 meters per second are expected across the republic; at the beginning of the month in the north-west and north of the Republic of Kazakhstan gusts of 30 meters per second or more are expected,” says the weather forecast for December released on Thursday.
In the second half of the first ten days of December, with the influx of Arctic cold air masses, the air temperature will drop significantly throughout the country:
– in the west of the country at night up to -10-20, during the day up to -3-13;
– in the north, northwest, east and center at night up to -20-30, during the day up to -10-20;
– in the south and southeast of the republic at night up to -10-20, during the day -2-10.
In the second and third decades of December, with the influence of cyclones, several intense heat waves are expected:
– in the northern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the air temperature will rise at night to -5-10, during the day to 0.-5;
– in the southern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan at night up to -3+3, during the day up to +5+13.
However, on some days, during the northwestern intrusions of anticyclones, a decrease in the temperature background is predicted:
– in the northern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan at night up to -20-30, during the day up to -8-15;
– in the southern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan at night up to -10-17, during the day up to -3-10.
“In general, according to the forecast, in December the average monthly air temperature in the country is expected to be 1-2 degrees Celsius above normal. The amount of precipitation in December is predicted to be around normal in most parts of the republic, above normal in the north of the republic,” the forecasters said.
