– In some places in southern Norway, there was a risk of waking up with frost on the tip of the nose today.
The Meteorological Institute writes on Twitter on Friday afternoon, after freezing temperatures have been registered in several places during the night.
– Then there is little reminiscent of summer, the meteorologists write.
At the same time, they recommend people who are going on a summit trip to remember warm clothes and check the weather before departure.

Continues
Hanne Beate Skattør, meteorologist on duty at the department, tells Dagbladet that the cool temperatures are not a one-off case.
– It has probably been colder tonight than it will be at night, but also night to Saturday it can be freezing temperatures in several places in the country.
– You probably have to go up to around 1500 meters above sea level, but in some places it can also get colder further down. This happens in typical “cold pits”.
– Takes longer
The meteorologist explains that the areas are exposed to what is called an inversion. This means that colder air settles closer to the ground, as colder air is heavier and it takes longer before it is replaced.
However, when the warm air hits these areas, it does not take long before the temperature rises.
– At Rena, the temperature increased by over five degrees between 6 and 7 o’clock today early, so it quickly gets hot again. Still, the night is so long now, which means that we lose a lot of heat at night.
