During the storm “Gyda” there was a hot air wave over the country, which led to much of the precipitation came as massive amounts of rain.
Although precipitation has also been reported in various parts of the country, it should not come close to as much rain as it did during “Gyda”. But temperatures continue to rise.
In parts of Eastern and Southern Norway, it can be as high as ten degrees towards the weekend, state meteorologist Iselin Skjervagen informs Dagbladet.
– Overall, it will be the best weather in Eastern Norway, in the Inland down towards Telemark and Agder. They are the ones who get the best weather next week. These are the weather winners in the country, she says.
We have sent out a yellow warning of gusts for eastern Norway ⚠️ From Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning, locally strong gusts of 17 – 23 m / s are expected from the northwest. Airy week
Along the entire west coast, there will be a heat wave from the southwest this week.
It will vary between cold and warm temperatures, at the same time as there will be some precipitation along the coast, up to Trøndelag. East of the mountains will be sheltered from precipitation, according to the state meteorologist.
Especially on Wednesday and Thursday you can expect a lot of precipitation along the west coast.
– A warning of snow has been sent out for Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal, at the same time as it will also blow a lot. Early Wednesday, the precipitation comes as rain, but on Wednesday afternoon it is announced that it will turn to snow. Locally in the lowlands, the amount of snow can reach 10-25 centimeters. In the mountains, it can be between 30-50 centimeters, says Skjervagen.
We have six danger warnings out at the moment, are there more that get lost in all the warnings we have sent out? 🤯😆 Here is a small summary with which areas and time periods apply ⚠️🤓 pic.twitter.com/pQqW6bsjfT
In line with the fact that it will be an airy week and precipitation such as rain in several places in the country, the snow will melt away in several places in the lowlands in the south and in eastern Norway, according to the meteorologist.
– In the lowlands, the snow depth will decrease, but in the mountains the snow will stay where there is already a lot of snow. There, the temperatures will not drop to plus degrees, says the meteorologist.
The alternating high and low temperatures can also lead to freezing rain in several places, the meteorologist warns.
– It can be difficult driving conditions and slippery roads if the ground is frozen when the rain hits the ground. Then it can be terribly slippery, says Skjervagen.
In Eastern Norway, there are now several ice-covered streets. The meteorologist believes that it will remain so this week.
– It is not hot enough for the ice to melt, she says.

Mild in the north
In northern Norway, you also have to rely on a lot of precipitation. Up to western Finnmark, there will be some precipitation such as snow and sleet, according to the meteorologist.
– In Nordland, some of the precipitation can also come as rain, but due to the temperatures it will be very variable between rain, sleet and snow in northern Norway, says Skjervagen.
But like the rest of the west coast, warm air masses come from the west, which means that there will also be positive temperatures in the north.
– On Sunday it can be quite hot, except in the mountains. Then there is talk that it can be between five and seven degrees, but until then it seems that there are quite varying temperatures, says the meteorologist.
