In the midst of extreme temperatures in various areas of the country, The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert for storms in more than 50 locations in Argentina. Heavy rainfall is expected, accompanied by strong gusts of wind and electrical activity. The affected provinces are: Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Mendoza, San Luis, Salta, Jujuy, Chubut and Santa Cruz.
The SMN reported that “the areas will be affected by rains and storms of varying intensity, some of which may be locally strong. They will be accompanied by gusts and occasional hail.”
In addition, strong electrical activity and, fundamentally, abundant waterfalls are expected in short periods. Accumulated precipitation values are between 30 and 50 mm, and may be exceeded occasionally.
In certain areas of the country, they will be affected by winds from the west sector with speeds between 50 and 70 km/h and gusts that can exceed 90 km/h.
