A Citilink airline passenger with the initials DW traveling to Jakarta-Ternate, North Maluku (Malut), was caught using the Polymerase Chain Reaction swab test result document.PCR) belonging to his wife in order to go to Ternate.
The man’s modus operandi was uncovered when he landed at Ternate’s Sultan Baabullah Airport. The Head of Operations of the Ternate City Covid-19 Task Force (Satgas) Muhammad Arif Gani confirmed the incident.
Gani said DW is a resident of Ternate City who traveled from Jakarta using Citilink airline. It is suspected that Dwi falsified the PCR document by using the name of his wife, Nurul.
According to him, DW managed to trick the officers at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta, by using his wife’s personal data and the results of the PCR test. DW managed to escape because during the examination he was wearing a veil and his wife’s PCR test documents were negative.
However, when he arrived at Ternate’s Baabullah Airport, DW was reported by the flight attendant who caught him taking off his veil and changing into his shirt in the airplane toilet.
He explained that the flight attendant immediately contacted the Sultan Baabullah Airport of Ternate to make an arrest. When asked about the reasons described by DW suspicious. Finally, said Gani, the health officer at the airport immediately carried out an antigen swab test and the result was positive for Covid-19.
“After the positive results of Covid-19, the airport immediately contacted the Ternate City Covid-19 Handling Task Force team, to evacuate by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), then taken by ambulance to the house to self-isolate and will be supervised by the Task Force officers. ,” he said.
Gani said that reflecting on this incident, the Ternate City Covid-19 Handling Task Force would coordinate with the airport and related agencies to tighten supervision at the airport.
