Wearing a mask still compulsory on Saturdays in the hypercentre of Toulouse

If wearing a mask is no longer compulsory outdoors, it remains so in the city center of Toulouse. The prefect of Haute-Garonne has indeed decided, “after consultation with the mayor of Toulouse”, to ask the people of Toulouse to make a little more effort.

Every Saturday, until further notice

The mask must indeed be worn outdoors, every Saturday, until further notice, from 10 a.m. to midnight, in the city center of Toulouse. In detail, this concerns the perimeter delimited by the following roads: boulevard d’Arcole, boulevard de Strasbourg, boulevard Lazare Carnot, rue de Metz, place du Pont Neuf, quai de la Daurade, place de la Daurade, quai Lucien Lombard, quai Saint-Pierre in its section going up to boulevard Armand Duportal, boulevard Armand Duportal, boulevard Lascrosses from place Armand Duportal, boulevard d’Arcole.

The prefect justifies this measure by “the cramped character” streets in the center of the pink city, often crowded at weekends with shopping or walking enthusiasts.

In addition, the mask remains compulsory outdoors during demonstrations and authorized gatherings of more than ten people, on markets, flea markets or empty attics, in public transport, in Queues and within a radius of 50 meters around schools and nurseries.

The health situation is improving

In addition, according to the last point of the Regional Health Agency of Occitanie, dating from Friday, June 18, the health situation concerning covid is improving. Thus, there are 591 hospitalizations (-43), with 95 people in intensive care (-3). The ARS indicates that 10,000 young people 12 to 18 year olds were vaccinated this week.
