The prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône and the prefect of police announced new measures Thursday evening to counter the spread of Covid-19 in Bouches-du-Rhône. Wearing a mask is now mandatory, bars and restaurants will close at 2 a.m. on December 31, and other measures will be put in place.
To limit the spread of the virus on New Year’s Day, new measures have been announced in the Bouches-du-Rhône for New Year’s Eve on December 31.
Wearing a mask becomes mandatory outdoors as of this Friday (except on beaches, in natural spaces, parks and gardens). It remains compulsory indoors in establishments open to the public.
Festive dancing activities are prohibited in establishments open to the public and on public roads from 6 p.m. on December 31 and until Saturday, January 1 at 10 a.m.
The prefect also asked elected officials to cancel events representing health risks involving the population, such as fireworks or greeting ceremonies.
The sale of take-out alcohol will be prohibited on the night of December 31 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.
It remains forbidden to consume alcohol on public roads. The sale and use of firecrackers and fireworks is prohibited, as is the retail sale and transport of fuel.
Similar measures have been adopted in Vaucluse and Hautes-Alpes.
