Wear OS 5 is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch FE models

Samsung Expands One UI 6 Watch Update to More Samsung Galaxy Watches

Samsung is continuing its rollout of the latest smartwatch software, One UI 6 Watch, powered by Wear OS 5. After debuting on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra this summer, the update was recently delivered to the Galaxy Watch 6 series. Now, older models like the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch FE are starting to receive the upgrade.

"FINALLY FOR WATCH 5 (BT; 44mm), AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING!" exclaimed one enthusiastic Reddit user from the GalaxyWatch subreddit.

The update seems to be spreading gradually across Europe, with reports from users confirming its availability on their Bluetooth-equipped Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch FE devices. A Malaysian Reddit user even reported receiving the update on their Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. LTE models are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks, while US users are still patiently awaiting their turn.

The One UI 6 Watch update is a sizable download, clocking in at nearly two gigabytes, but it packs a punch with several notable upgrades. Health and fitness enthusiasts will benefit from new features like Energy Score, enhanced Sleep Analysis, and personalized Race/Workout Routine options, all designed to improve the Samsung Health experience.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series, however, remains patiently waiting in the wings for its One UI 6 Watch update, but Samsung appears to be accelerating its rollout pace.

With the Galaxy Watch 6 series receiving the update last week, the rapid rollout of One UI 6 Watch to the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch FE suggests that Samsung is committed to delivering the latest smartwatch experience to a wider range of devices.
