Weapons, money and stolen goods found during traffic control in Dortmund

Dortmund. The police seized weapons, money and stolen goods during a traffic check. The charges against the driver from Dortmund are serious.

On Sunday (22 September), officers from the Dortmund police checked a car on Lina-Schäfer-Straße. Among other things, they found several weapons in the car.

At around 6 a.m., officers from the Dortmund police stopped a vehicle for a general traffic check. A check of the driver revealed that the 27-year-old from Dortmund was currently banned from driving and his driver’s license had been placed on hold.

The police then searched both the owner and the car for a driver’s license. The officers did not find a driver’s license, but they did find numerous other items. In the vehicle there was a firearm, several knives, four-figure cash and a pawn ticket for a high-quality watch. According to the police, the latter is wanted and came from a theft of several high-quality watches.

After a telephone consultation with the public prosecutor’s office on call and the 27-year-old’s consent, his apartment was searched. And here, too, the officers found something: they discovered another knife and another high-quality wristwatch.

The officers confiscated the 27-year-old’s weapons, watches, cash, pawn ticket and cell phone. He now faces criminal charges for driving without a license and violating the weapons law. He is also suspected of receiving stolen goods. After all police measures had been completed, the 27-year-old was allowed to leave the police station.
