Army Captain Oda Skar, along with other Norwegian soldiers as well as US troops, is part of a mission in Iraq to train local forces. During an intervention at the attacked Iraqi hospital, he discovers that the weapons used by the attackers were probably made at the Norwegian Nammo plant in Raufoss, her hometown. When he finds himself in a secret weapons depot on his next trip, he is close to a fatal revelation. However, with his unit, he becomes the target of an attack in which one of the soldiers loses his life. She herself, along with a seriously injured Lieutenant Munkeby, is transported back to Norway.

With the trauma on body and soul that he brings with him from Iraq, he is facing a major decision. Should he disclose the fact that Norwegian-made weapons fell into the hands of terrorists? Or keep your mouth shut and protect your own family’s employers as well as the small town’s main source of tax revenue? He decides to look for the causes of the suspected machinations on his own. Gradually, she reveals an unexpectedly wide network of contexts and personal ties, in which members of her family, local media and top political leaders are involved. And Oda suspects that with each step, her actions become more dangerous and risks losing loved ones, status, and even personal honor.

The original series Made in Norway was written for Norwegian radio by Vegard Steiro Amundsen, and the elaboration not only met with the response of domestic listeners, but also resonated in an international context due to the urgency of the topic and the attractive form. The creators received the award for the best radio series Prix Europa 2020.
Director Aleš Vrzák collaborated with the master of sound Tomáš Pernický and music designer Jan Trojan in the preparation of the Czech four-part version and together they created an impressive image of a thrilling quest for truth into the dark corners of society and their own conscience. Of course, the actors also play a key role in the persuasiveness of the story. Petra Bučková endowed Oda Skarová with temperament, courage and inner urgency, but she also left the heroine room for the pain, anxiety or insecurity that accompanies bold actions like a dark shadow. Jan Dolanský also created significant characters as the captain’s close friend, Lieutenant Munkebye, Jan Vlasák in the role of father or Dana Černá and Aleš Procházka as ministers of the Norwegian government.
But the spectrum of characters that go through Odi’s story is just as wide and varied as we know it from everyday life – as if nothing extraordinary predestined them to become part of exceptional events…
