Weapon Sounds in Dead Space Remake Adjusted After Feedback

Last month a developer stream surrounding the Dead Space remake was broadcast with a focus on the audio. Fans weren’t happy with how certain weapons, specifically the plasma cutter and pulse rifle, sounded compared to the original game.

Motive Studios has worked on this and modified the sound of these weapons. On social media, the developer is comparing the sound of the weapons in the original games, in last month’s live stream and in the current version of the game.

Community manager Caden House gaf op Reddit some more information about the changes. He goes into more detail about how important it is for weapons to give players the feeling that they are really shooting. He hopes that the new audio will please fans of the original game. He does warn that everything is logically still subject to change, since the game is still in development.

The Dead Space remake is set to release sometime in early 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
