/ world today news/ “Very soon it will become clear whether the idea of ​​the outermost neighborhoods, which GERB stole from us during the election campaign, is their propaganda bluff.” This was stated by Milka Hristova from the BSP Left Bulgaria group in the Metropolitan Municipal Council after the solemn meeting at which the new city parliament was sworn in. Hristova was elected with a full majority – 61 votes “for” out of 61 councilors, as deputy chairman of the SOS.

“We will continue to defend the thesis, which we set out in the pre-election campaign, for the complex and harmonious development of Sofia and for this more investments to be directed to the outer districts,” she commented. – Surprisingly, in the course of the campaign, this thesis was adopted by both GERB and the Reformers. Yordanka Fandakova also claimed it in her speech. We will be a pillar of this idea of ​​ours and we will monitor whether it will be implemented in practice or will turn out to be a propaganda pre-election bluff. The answer to this question will be known very soon, as the capital’s budget for next year is about to be voted on. From the priorities that will be stated in it, it will be clear whether this was a real intention or was only a means to attract more votes in the elections. However, we will hold on to “The Other Face of Sofia” until the end.

Milka Hristova noted that after the regrouping in SOS, BSP Left Bulgaria emerged as the only consistent opposition in the new municipal council. As is known, the representatives of “Voice of the People”, “Movement 21” and “The Greens” are already the “Five” group, and VMRO and “Ataka” are “Patriots for Sofia”. “The fact that we will be the only opposition is not at all new for us, explained Hristova. – And in the previous Municipal Council, we were like that. However, we will not be a deaf and passive opposition, nor will we oppose good ideas for our own sake. On the contrary, we will support those decisions that are useful. But above all, we will monitor very carefully the compliance with the law and the correct spending of the money of the people of Sofia. We will oppose all decisions that are not in the interest of the people of Sofia and, at the very least, we will make them public.”
