We will not participate in power if we lose today – 2024-09-13 15:39:58

/ world today news/ Prime Minister Boyko Borisov confirmed that if GERB candidate Tsetska Tsacheva does not win the presidential elections today, he will resign. The Prime Minister commented on the outcome of the runoff after voting this morning in Bankya.

He reiterated his warnings that if he wins Gen. Rumen Radev, it is not known what comes next, as long as he guarantees stability, and Bulgaria needs calmness and hopes for the strong instinct for self-preservation of the Bulgarians.

When asked if he could form a new government with the mandate of GERB in this parliament (after resignation, the president hands over the first mandate to the largest party in the National Assembly – note ed.), he said: “We will not participate in power in any way if lose today,” then added “I wish you a nice game of lamb’s heads” (apparently referring to the new projects on the right, as a group in the UDF was associated with this name in the past – ed.) and stopped answering questions, reports “Diary”.

Borisov was adamant that he would not explain tomorrow that he had changed his mind and resigned. He said that he is not worried, but those who lied during the campaign should be worried, because he has seen how in the US they are starting to back down from their promises.

“Today, the Bulgarians will say whether they want stability”, announced the Prime Minister and explained that GERB reads the signals very clearly, so “people have given me to manage, as soon as there is a problem, we immediately return the power”.

According to him, there is a competitor against Tsacheva, behind whom, on one side, is the leader of the BSP, Kornelia Ninova, and on the other, the candidate for vice president, Iliana Yotova, who is also a party cadre. Borisov refused to list who else is around the gen. Rumen Radev with the argument of not spoiling his mood from the morning. “There is nothing majoritarian and nothing independent about this candidacy. On the contrary, it is unclear what will happen next.”

“They declared war against us and change would come, we saw it two years ago – I think the Bulgarians have an instinct for self-preservation”, the prime minister also stated and answered a question that the current rulers have also dealt with the problem of refugees.
