“We know the Spaniards very well, we only played against them a few months ago. We will need the same approach, the same fighting spirit that we have shown against the French. ” declared the Swiss captain Granit Xhaka on the official website of the European Football Union (UEFA). His teammates will also be fighting on the lawn, as the quarterfinals must be served in the stands for a penalty for yellow cards.
Also a coach Petkovic realizes that his charges must perform at least the same, if not better, than in the eight-finals: “The match with France was far too emotional. All my players have passed 120 percent. It was probably the best performance of any of the teams I led. We only have a chance in the quarterfinals if we repeat that. “
“La Furia Roja” also tried out the emotional roller coaster in the round of 16. “I am ready, even if the next match is to end 5: 3. However, I am not sure that the fans or my family would welcome it. Under no circumstances will we play kicked balls, we will never play defensive football, even if it should bring such crazy results again. We defend only by trying to hold the ball and create, “ stressed the Spanish coach Luis Enrique.
