Zelensky: We will endure and win

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has announced that Russian missiles and artillery will not break Ukrainian unity and determination to win this war.

“We will endure. We will win. We will take back what is ours, we will rebuild our lives. We will do it together because that is the only way we can do it.

This is possible only without fighting each other. This is our duty to all previous generations of our people who fought for our freedom and the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

A moment of silence was observed across Ukraine at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday to commemorate the people who have been killed in the war started by Russia. From now on, such a minute-long moment of silence will be observed every day. This is foreseen by an order signed by Ukrainian President Zelensky.

At the front, the most active warfare takes place in the east of the country. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs that Russian troops are continuing their attempts to reach the border of the Luhansk region in order to advance deeper into the Donetsk region. However, two villages in the Luhansk region remain under the control of Ukrainian forces.

The defenders of the country managed to repulse the attacks of the Russian troops in the direction of the cities of Slovyansk and Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

On the other hand, in the Kharkiv region, the invaders are trying to maintain their positions. Meanwhile, the think tank “Institute for the Study of War” reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has for his armed forces ordered to capture Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv and the area adjacent to it. Therefore, in the coming days, the invaders are expected to actively try to gain territorial success in this area. Analysts at the think tank, however, doubt it will succeed.

British military intelligence says that Russian troops are strengthening defensive positions in the occupied territories in southern Ukraine. The transfer of personnel and weapons to the front sectors between Mariupol and Zaporizhia is underway, and the Russians are also taking seriously the offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson region.

The Ukrainian army has eliminated another enemy command post and ammunition warehouse in Kherson region. It is likely that the successful attacks were carried out with the US-supplied HIMARS reactive artillery missile systems.

The armed forces of Ukraine have warned that they do not rule out the possibility of using “HIMARS” to attack Russian military facilities in the annexed Crimean peninsula. One of the potential Ukrainian targets could be the Crimean bridge, which connects the peninsula with Russian territory.

CONTEXT:

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to start invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine. Putin claimed that NATO was going to use Ukraine as a springboard for aggression against Russia, although there was no evidence for these claims. Ukraine believes that Putin’s real goal is to destroy Ukrainian statehood and bring the territory under Moscow’s control.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has caused a general condemnation of the international communityagainst Russia more and more sanctions are introduced. Many western companies have decided to leave the Russian market.
