We will abolish anti-coronavirus measures, the British minister confirmed

England will abolish the need to wear veils as the first part of the United Kingdom, and restrictions on gathering people will also cease to apply. However, although July 19 has long been referred to as “Freedom Day,” the government is now taking a step with caution. The authorities fear that the daily number of new cases of coronavirus will continue to rise, hovering above the 30,000 average on a seven-day average, where it was last at the end of January. Experts warn that due to the spread of the delta variant and more people meeting, the number of newly infected could rise to 100,000 a day, well above the worst phase of the epidemic in Britain earlier this year.

Javid said that thanks to a successful vaccination campaign, nine out of ten adults in Britain now have antibodies to coronavirus. According to him, the government will also meet its goal, which was to offer at least the first dose of the vaccine to all adults by July 19.

At the same time, however, the Minister called on the residents to take personal responsibility. According to him, the connection between newly confirmed diseases and deaths has been “significantly weakened” thanks to vaccination, but it is not completely broken.

According to the minister, people should continue to wear veils in busy places, such as public transport, but at the same time they should gradually return to the workplace. The government also encourages organizers of mass events to require visitors to confirm that they have been vaccinated or have previously experienced covid-19.

The government’s decision will be confirmed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who in recent statements also urged citizens to be cautious and warned them against a future increase in the new number of cases.

The central government of London manages health policy only in England, in the rest of the United Kingdom, ie in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, they decide on the restrictions of the local regional government.
