We went to the project without a scenario, say the creators of a documentary about coronavirus

Patients, paramedics or social workers describe their struggle with the invisible enemy. The documentary shows hospitals where the struggle for life takes place, sanatoriums where people with the consequences of this disease are treated, and Alzheimer’s centers.

“We filmed at the General University Hospital in Prague and also at the Alzheimer’s Center in Ostrava. We had exclusive access directly to the infected, to clients and staff who put their own health on to save others, “said documentary director Michal Kratochvíl.

“The documentary is not about death and fear. He doesn’t want to panic. It offers stories of people who have actually encountered covid-19 and whose condition required hospitalization. We even had an exclusive approach to the patient with the most severe course of the disease in the Czech Republic, who eventually recovered, “the director further explains.

“We went into the project at the beginning without any scenario. We just knew the importance of capturing this time. And the result? Great and unique testimony of people who are not just statistical numbers. They have a face, a name and they tell you what it’s like to meet a hitherto unknown disease. Listening to their statements is very beneficial and will make you think, “added news director Kamil Houska.

During the filming, the creators had to wear the same protective suits as the paramedics. Once they were dressed, it was not possible to go to the toilet or eat.

Tatiana Dyková commented on the film.
