Major General Ali Darwish, head of the Cairo Stadium Authority, confirmed that he welcomes Al-Ahly’s request to play its African matches on the stadium.
Darwish said in exclusive statements to Lilacoura: “Al-Ahly has requested that all its African matches be held at Cairo Stadium, and we welcome this request.”
He added, “The stadium is always fully prepared, unlike other stadiums.”
The president of the Cairo Stadium Authority concluded: “We put the winter and summer nigra each on his own timing, and therefore the playing field is always very good.”
It is worth noting that Al-Ahly begins its campaign in the African Champions League against Al-Merrikh, Sudan, tomorrow, Tuesday.
